Amendment of the September 26, 2012 meeting minutes

Unfortunately, GSS head office did not liked the wording that we used in our meeting minutes from the September 26th.

Because of that some of our colleagues have troubles with reimbursements for the things we already purchased and using, namely  HDTV in the game room, ping-pong bats, Fifa 13, and kitchen supplies.

Therefore I've amended our meeting minutes in order to make our financial motions  and make sure they comply with the GSS wording requirements.
Example:
Old wording:

Motion to buy HDTV for games room

                                                            Volunteer: Majid Razmara

                                                            Moved by: Svetozar Miuchin

                                                            Seconded by: Ravikran Vadlapudi

                                                            Budget: $700

                                                            Vote for: 14

                                          Decision: Motion carries

 New wording:

Motion to buy HDTV for games room and to approve that Majid Razmara will spend up to $700 and got reimbursed for this purchase.

                                                            Volunteer: Majid Razmara

                                                            Moved by: Svetozar Miuchin

                                                            Seconded by: Ravikran Vadlapudi

                                                            Budget: $700

                                                            Vote for: 14

As you might see now motion reads who exactly would be able to spend the money and how much.
The amended meeting minutes could be found in our meeting minutes section

Now in order to approve amendments we need to conduct web-survey and received at least 10 votes in favor of approval.
Please, support the amendment of our minutes and vote using this web-survey

Update 8/11/2012 Web-survey is closed now. Thank you everyone for voting.

CS GSA September 26th meeting results. $2000 will be spent!

We held a meeting on September 26th, 2012.
Thank you for attending the meeting. There were more than 30 students! That's a huge sucess.

We saw heated debates and democracy in action.

As our vice-president Tom Thorsney-Weir (you might remember him as a guy who organized our BBQ event this summer) stepped down,
we elected new one: Mengliu Zhao from the medical imaging lab.

Here is how we decided to spend our $2000 budget for this semester:
1. Evgeny Vinnik (me) would be reimbursed with $145.81  for organizing the meeting: buying pizza, sandwiches and drinks.
2. Majid Razmara would by a new HDTV in our game room. His budget is 700$. We will play XBox in HD quality! Alternatively student would be able to watch movies on it.
3. We are going to hold a paintball event. Snehasish is going to be an organizer. Budget: $300
4. Hoda Akbari will buy nice new ping pong rackets and ball. We allocated $150 for this. So we would be able to buy some decent bats!
5. We will hold two game nights: we allocated $250 for the food and drinks.
6. Arun Bharadwaj traditionally volunteered to hold a Movie Night. He'll spend $150 for it.
7. Ravikran Vadlapudi is going to buy FIFA 2013 and some other Xbox accessories. All together - $100.
8. We need to get new kitchen supplies. Hamed Yaghoubi volunteered to buy this. We allocated $100 for this purchase, so we would be able to buy lots of dishsoap ahead.
9. At the end of October we would celebrate Diwali, with Indian sweets, music and stuff. Evgeny Vinnik (me) will spend $100 on gulab jamun, ras malai, chai etc.

We are going to see a semester filled with research and super-cool socializing events.
